Miss Savannah State is voted in by her classmates to reign as the queen based on her popularity, skills, qualities and talents. The inception of establishing a queen for the university derived from a need to raise funds for student campus social events. The process of selecting the queen encouraged students to participate in having a fundraiser for the college.
